The Fight to Protect Young People’s Data in Europe
ROLE: Creative Direction, Design, Branding, production, installation, OOH Campaign creative, construction, typography
“What’s it to you?!/ Kaj Te Briga!?” is as interactive exhibition based on insights from interviews and surveys of young people in Slovenia about the use of their data on social media platforms.
To bring these insights and conger online conversation in the physical world, I worked with local organisations and artists to build an interactive exhibition called “Kaj Te Briga?!/What’s it to you!?”. The exhibition brought to life how young people’s data is used, gained national media traction, and surfaced new community conversations and commitments from policymakers.
The design needed to be chaotic but consistent, kinda of structured-chaos! It was also designed to be flexible across both English and Slovenian alphabets.
As a result the exhibition elements sat together with a consistent set of 4 typefaces that can be treated differently to create variance in some of the key assets below, while maintaining a consistent feel across them all, as well as a limited colour palette for the same reasons.
creative: ooh campaign, invitation and press assets, physical space design, sticker pack, t shirts, post cards, hand-drawn protest signs, report design
This set of key graphics was created to pay with the visual semantics of a teenagers’ bedroom/aesthetics, while pointing out how Big Tech exploits people’s privacy.
