As the COVID-19 crisis emerged, there was widespread confusion around how the disease spread, where it had come from, and what the effective treatments were to manage it. This was fuelled in part by social media platforms allowing misinformation to spread unchecked by public health officials.

 
 
Our campaign was designed to educate people on the nature of misinformation, how it spreads and how you can help combat it in your everyday life.

The team at Purpose created an online education quiz that sought to use the COVID-19 moment to educate the Australian public about COVID-19 misinformation, and how misinformation spreads on social media.

More than 10,000 people signed on to demand that Facebook, Twitter, and Google do more to stop the spread of misinformation during the COVID-19 crisis.
